Join us for a collective walk in peace and silence with the monastics of Deer Park Monastery in downtown Los Angeles. In the spirit of our teacher, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, each of our peaceful steps generates a collective energy that goes out into the world. Together we hold and acknowledge the suffering in the escalating violence and loss of life in over 100 wars and armed conflicts worldwide, including in Palestine, Israel, Sudan, Ukraine, and Myanmar. We generate compassion for the victims of discrimination, hatred, and violence, and also for the perpetrators who are also victims of their own pride, fear, and wrong perceptions. We will walk alongside our sangha siblings hosting peace walks the same day in London and Washington DC.
Bring a mat for sitting on the grass, sun protection, a packed vegan/vegetarian lunch, and water. Following the walk, the monastics will offer a chant to send our collective energy of compassion out to all the zones of armed conflict worldwide.
To reflect the vigil and contemplative nature of this event, we ask you not to bring any banners, flags, or placards. You are enough.

Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Workshop
This training workshop is open to:
Yoga teachers who have completed a 200-hour certification course.
Those in other healing professions (therapists, clinicians, nurses, doulas, healers, etc.) who have at least two years of consistent asana practice and would like to bring restorative yoga into their workplace settings.

HEALING SPACES: Calm Yourself / Energize Yourself
When our nervous systems get stuck in patterns of high overdrive (anxiety, fear, etc.) or shutdown (depression, chronic fatigue, etc.), we need simple, accessible practices at hand that can stimulate the cycle of rebalancing - of calming ourselves or energizing ourselves.
This workshop will take you through steps to recognize, stimulate, and reset your own patterns:
Recognize your own nervous system’s physical/mental/emotional cues
Stimulate calming responses (breath, movement, meditation)
Stimulate energizing responses (breath, movement, meditation)
Reset with a soundbath savasana
Bring a journal, yoga mat, and any props that you need to sit/lie comfortably.

Vision Board Workshop
Infuse your 2023 intentions with community love at this fun and creative, low-key workshop
Create something personal that can serve as a daily, visual reminder of:
what brings you joy
what motivates you
what you’re working towards
what you want 2023 to feel like
Supplied: multiple design/idea samples, poster boards, markers, color pencils, magazines, scissors, glue
Feel free to bring your own: more magazines, glitter, anything else you want to use


Healing Spaces: Release & Transform
Learn to let go of the tension, trauma, and suffering that is stored in your tissues.
In this workshop, you’ll experience a guided session of TRE trembling (Trauma Release Exercises). You’ll learn the hows and whys of this simple yet powerful practice, adding it to your self-care and healing toolkit.
Bring your yoga mat to practice asana, plus any props that you need to sit comfortably for discussion and for the supported savasana set up of your choice. We’ll open with movement to warm up the body for TRE, follow with meditation & discussion, and close with a healing sound bath.

Fall Yoga Mala
Celebrate fall with your yoga community. Join Jennifer for this special yoga mala class that includes 108 salutations broken into 4 sets of 27 to allow for mindful and reflective breaks, plus a mini sound bath for a sweet savasana.
Reflect on seasonal themes of movement, harvesting, letting go, and clearing out as we flow together to create a path of practice for the final months of 2022.
All are welcome, with options given for more or less intensity in your physical practice.

Healing Spaces: Befriend Your Nervous System
Our human bodies are hard-wired to constantly search for cues of safety. Our nervous systems are the first to respond to these cues, and affect how our minds and bodies react.
In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of polyvagal theory and mapping to begin to understand your own patterns of response. We’ll practice accessible yoga and qigong-based movement & breathing for
stimulating energy (upregulating)
quieting energy (downregulating)
resilience & recovery (building new patterns)

Healing Spaces: Mindfulness 101
This workshop is for anyone who needs some guidance, support, and accountability to start or deepen their mindful meditation practice. Based in Buddhist psychology, you will learn how to create space for all of your emotions, experiences, sensations, and thoughts, in a way that heals suffering and generates happiness.
Bring your yoga mat for gentle movement to prepare for meditation, plus any props that you need to sit comfortably and for the supported savasana set up of your choice. We’ll open with movement, follow with meditation & discussion, and close with a healing sound bath.
This workshop also includes an optional virtual check in on Saturday, September 24.
