Session 2: Befriend Your Nervous System
Our human bodies are hard-wired to constantly search for cues of safety. Our nervous systems are the first to respond to these cues, and affect how our minds and bodies react.
In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of polyvagal theory and mapping to begin to understand your own patterns of response. We’ll practice accessible yoga and qigong-based movement & breathing for
stimulating energy (upregulating)
quieting energy (downregulating)
resilience & recovery (building new patterns)
Bring your yoga mat to practice asana, plus any props that you need to sit comfortably for discussion and for the supported savasana set up of your choice. We’ll open with meditation, follow with discussion & movement, and close with a healing sound bath.
